NCRA's Partners in Education (PIE) is a collaborative
network between Cancer Registry professionals, Cancer Registry schools and
students. PIE offers valuable resources for current and promising
Cancer Registry professionals plus finding an Accredited Formal
Education Program. Your participation is the main ingredient!
Mentors play
a critical role in the careers of all Cancer Registrars. This page
is designed to provide access to mentors and resources within the Cancer Registry
Community.
This service is provided to you at no cost, but
there are a few guidelines for you to follow:
- The listed names and contact information are for the sole purpose of finding a professional
mentor. This list is not intended for the solicitation of products
and services or in career placement.
- Any abuse or misuse of the directory will
result in your removal from the directory and will be reported
to NCRA’s Ethics Committee.
Please select from the following

Students
If you are enrolled in a Find an Accredited Formal Education Program
Program and are looking for your clinical placement, search
for sites to complete your clinical hours. You may only use the information found in the
directory for the purposes of
contacting a potential mentor.
If you do not see a potential clinical site in an area near you, submit your request to alert NCRA’s membership of experienced Cancer
Registrars that you are in search of an NCRA Mentor.
Experienced CTRs
Experienced CTRs are desperately needed to assist with the clinical
aspect of the Accredited Formal Education Programs. By agreeing
to list your name as a Find an Accredited Formal Education Program
Clinical Mentor, you will likely be contacted by students who
will discuss their needs for placement with you.
Here is what a Find an Accredited Formal Education
Program Student will need to gain from the clinical experience:
- Direct supervision under an experienced
Certified Tumor Registrar.
- Complete 160 hours of work within a Cancer
Registry.
- Clinical work experience that encompasses
the following areas:
- Registry Organization
- Registry Operations
- Disease Management
- Data Collection Processes
- Statistics and Epidemiology
- Data Utilization
- Computer Principles
- Management Principles
