The Danielle Chufar Memorial Annual Scholarship provides financial support to NCRA member(s) with no available funding to attend NCRA’s Annual Educational Conference. The scholarship is named in memory of Danielle Chufar; an NCRA staff member and new RHIT professional preparing to take her CTR exam who passed away in February 2004 from cancer.
The Danielle Chufar Memorial Annual Scholarship recipient may choose to attend the annual conference in-person or opt for the virtual component. For in-person attendance, the scholarship will cover the registration fee, round-trip, coach airfare (up to the amount of $600), and hotel for three nights at the conference hotel. For recipients choosing the virtual component, the scholarship will cover the registration fee and additional online education and training available through NCRA’s Center for Cancer Registry Education equal to $600 to be used within one year from receiving the scholarship. Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply again for five years.
