Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 
NCRA has rescheduled the 2020 Annual Conference for September 20 -23, 2020 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando. Answers to common questions are provided below.  

ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND WORKSHOP REGISTRATION 

  • Q: I am currently registered for the Annual Conference and/or paid workshop (Fundamentals of Abstracting and CTR Exam Prep) and plan to attend the rescheduled conference/paid workshop. What do I need to do? 
    A: No action with NCRA is required. NCRA will transfer all conference and workshop registrations to the new September 2020 conference dates. You will receive an email confirming your rescheduled registration. See below for information on rebooking your hotel reservations. 
  • Q: I am currently registered for the Annual Conference and/or paid workshop (Fundamentals of Abstracting and CTR Exam Prep) and do NOT plan to attend the rescheduled conference/paid workshop. What do I need to do?
    A: You may choose to defer your registration to the 2021 Annual Conference in Indianapolis (June 2-5, 2021 at the JW Marriott) or cancel and request a full refund by following this link: https://bit.ly/3ces0cV. Refund amount is equal to the full amount paid at the time of registration and all cancellation fees will be waived for refund requests received by August 21, 2020. All refund requests will be processed as they are received.
  • Q: I cancelled my registration for the May 31-June 3 Annual Conference and/or paid workshop (Fundamentals of Abstracting and CTR Exam Prep) prior to the announcement of the September dates, but I am now able to attend. Can I reinstate my registration?
    A: Yes. Please email nallen@ncra-usa.org if you would like to have your registration reinstated. 
  • Q: When will conference registration open for the rescheduled NCRA Annual Conference?  
    A: NCRA’s updated conference web page and registration link will be available on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.
  • Q: I am currently registered to attend the SEER Workshop and plan to attend the rescheduled event. What do I need to do? 
    A: No action is required. NCRA will transfer your SEER registration to the new September 2020 workshop dates. You will receive an email confirming your rescheduled SEER registration. See below for information on rebooking your hotel reservations.
  • Q: I am currently registered to attend the SEER Workshop and do NOT plan to attend the rescheduled SEER Workshop. What do I need to do? 
    A: You may cancel your SEER Workshop registration by following this link: https://bit.ly/3ces0cV.
  • Q: I am currently planning to attend one of the Pre-Conference CDC-NPCR Workshops. What do I need to do? 
    A: NPCR will reach out to registrants of their pre-conference workshops directly on next steps.  

ANNUAL CONFERENCE HOUSING AND TRAVEL

  • Q: How do I cancel my hotel reservation at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort? 
    A: All hotel reservations at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in the NCRA hotel block will be cancelled automatically without penalty and your deposit will be refunded by Disney. Disney will send a cancellation email to confirm your cancellation. If you have a reservation at another hotel or booked outside the NCRA block, you will need to reach out to your booking site and cancel your reservations directly. 
  • Q: I have a hotel reservation for the original May 31-June 3 Annual Conference and plan to attend the rescheduled conference. Will the dates of my reservation be changed automatically?
    A: No. You must make a new hotel reservation. You can make the new reservation beginning April 22, 2020. NCRA will send and post the hotel reservation link at that time. Please note that NCRA’s conference rate of $199 will remain available only until August 21, 2020, or until sold out; whichever is first.
  • Q: I do not have a hotel reservation but would like to attend the rescheduled September Annual Conference. How can I reserve a hotel room?
    A:  Beginning April 22, you can make a hotel reservation and obtain the NCRA rate. The hotel reservation link will be posted and sent to members at that time. Please note that NCRA’s conference rate of $199 will remain available only until August 21, 2020 or until sold out; whichever is first.
  • Q: I have a reservation for air travel to Orlando for the original May 31-June 3 Annual Conference. Can I change my reservation and travel to the rescheduled Annual Conference?
    A: You must contact your carrier or air travel booking site directly and follow their guidelines regarding the changing or cancellation of flights.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE PROGRAM

  • Q: Will the conference program have the same sessions and speakers for the postponed dates? 
    A: NCRA’s interest is to have the same educational sessions for both the conference and workshops. All invited conference and workshop presenters are being contacted to confirm their availability to participate in the rescheduled event. Review the current Educational Sessions. NCRA will post updated Educational Sessions as they are revised.
  • Q: Will the 2020 Annual Conference be offered virtually?
    A: Since 2003, NCRA has offered a virtual option of its Annual Conference for cancer surveillance professionals unable to attend in-person. The product is known as "Encore Sessions" and includes high-quality video capture of the educational sessions. The training from the upcoming 2020 Annual Conference is available to pre-order in two formats: online via the Center for Cancer Registry Education, NCRA’s learning management system, or USB Drive. Pre-order the 2020 Annual Conference Encore Sessions USB Drive  or 2020 Annual Conference Encore Sessions Online Product. NCRA is considering additional virtual options for delivering the 2020 Annual Conference. Details will be posted when available.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE EXHIBITORS

  • Q: I am currently scheduled to exhibit and/or have a sponsorship at the Annual Conference and plan to exhibit at the rescheduled Conference. What do I need to do?
    A: No action is required. You will remain in the same booth(s) purchased and/or sponsorships for the original conference dates and your booth fees and/or sponsorship fees will be transferred to the rescheduled conference in September. You will receive an e-mail confirming your rescheduled exhibit and sponsorship details.
  • Q: I am currently scheduled to exhibit at the Annual Conference and do NOT plan to exhibit at the rescheduled conference. What do I need to do?
     A: You must request a full refund by sending an e-mail to Caitlin Irvin at cirvin@ncra-usa.org. Refund requests must be received by May 18, 2020. All cancellation fees will be waived.
