ODS Credential Maintenance Options
Extension If you were unable to complete the required 20 CEs credits, the 8 CEIP credits, or the 4 Category A credits for the cycle in which they are due, you may request an extension. This will allow deficient hours from one cycle to be obtained in the next two-year cycle period or 4-year CEIP. Four (4) Category A CE credits must be completed before extension is granted.

Medical Disability Release In cases where medical disabilities limit participation in continuing education (CE) activities, individuals who are unable to complete the required 20 CEs for their CE Cycle may submit a request to NCRA for a release from the ODS credential maintenance requirements. If a medical disability limits your participation in CE activities and prevents you from complete the required 8 CEIP credits, you may request an exemption from NCRA for those particular ODS credential maintenance requirements. Request forms must be signed by a healthcare professional. This release is valid only for the duration of your disability and applies solely to situations involving the affected individual - not family members.
