Who can be a member of NCRA?
NCRA is a non-profit organization that represents over 7,000 cancer registry professionals. NCRA’s vision is Making Oncology Data Matter. Our mission is to engage and advance our community through innovation, education, credentialing, advocacy, and alliances. There are several NCRA membership categories.
- If you hold the Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential, you must join as an Active member, regardless of where you live.
- If you are a student enrolled full- or part-time in a college-level accredited program, join as a Student member.
- If you reside in North America and want to stay informed on the work of cancer registrars, join as either an Active or Associate member. NOTE: If you hold the ODS credential, you must join as an Active member.
- If you reside outside of North America and want to stay informed on the work of cancer registrars, join as an Active or International member. NOTE: If you hold the ODS credential, you must join as an Active member.
What if I already have an existing account with NCRA and want to join?
If you were a student who created an account in NCRA’s Center for Cancer Registry Education or if you are an existing non-member customer who bought an NCRA product or service, you already have an account with NCRA. Please e-mail NCRA Membership Services at member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310 for assistance on how to update and activate your current NCRA record to become a member.
What if I am new to NCRA and want to join?
Go to NCRA’s Join page. Once you pick your membership category, you will be asked to create an account. (If you have earned the ODS credential, you must choose the Active Member category.) If you have questions, e-mail NCRA Membership Services at member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310 for assistance.
Do membership benefits take effect immediately?
Yes. Once your membership payment has been processed, your benefits begin immediately. You will receive a copy of your receipt, membership acknowledgement letter, and NCRA membership card by mail to your preferred address in four to six weeks. International members will receive an e-mail with this information.

How do I update my NCRA Member Database profile?
SIGN IN (upper right-hand corner of the NCRA website).
Go to My Account
Select Manage My Account
Look for Account Actions on the right-hand side of the screen.
To update your name, go to Edit Profile.
To update your phone number and/or e-mail, go to Contact Information.
To update your address, go to Address Book.
You may also send your changes to member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310. It is important to keep your member profile up to date to receive critical information from NCRA.
I forgot my username and password?
If you have forgotten your username and password, go to the SIGN IN page and click on reset password or click here to request a password reset. This will only work if the email entered matches the email in your NCRA account. If you no longer have access to the e-mail address in your NCRA account, request assistance via e-mail at member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310.
How do I renew my NCRA membership?
To renew your membership, SIGN IN to your account.
Go to the My Account, select Manage My Account.
Click on the gold box in the middle of the page entitled Membership Join/Renew.
You will see your contact information at the top left.
Scroll down and click on the circular button next to your Current Membership Type.
Click on the circular button next to ODS Annual Certification, if applicable. Make sure to update your Demographics.
You have the option to purchase the annual subscription package to the Center for Cancer Registry Education (CCRE) and/or donate to the NCRA Education Foundation.
Read the Refund Policy.
Click the acknowledgement box.
Click Submit Membership.
Review your cart and Proceed to Check Out.
NCRA accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. Make sure the contact information in your NCRA account matches the credit card account information, including name, address, and zip code. A receipt will be sent to the e-mail address on your NCRA account.
Does NCRA mail a hard-copy membership dues invoice?
NCRA launches online membership renewal in August. Hard-copy invoices are mailed in October. If you do not receive an invoice, contact Membership Services by e-mail member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310.
What other forms of payment does NCRA accept for membership dues?
In addition to online credit card payments, you can pay your membership dues by check* or money order. Checks and money orders are to be made payable to NCRA. Please include your NCRA Member ID# on your check/money order or attach a completed membership application.

How can international members pay for NCRA membership?
NCRA prefers international payments to be paid by credit card. If this is not possible, payment may be made by international wire transfer or by check drawn in US dollars. A fee of $50 US. will be added to all orders paid by international wire transfer or checks originating outside the U.S. Please contact Membership Services by e-mail member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310. NCRA Membership Services will work with the accounting department to provide you with wire transfer instructions.
How can one facilitate employer-group or third-party payments?
For employer/third-party payments, members should provide their membership renewal invoice to the employer/third party for payment on their behalf. It is the responsibility of the NCRA member to ensure the dues are received in time to avoid late fees and that your dues invoice is provided to the payer and submitted with the payment. Can one pay NCRA membership dues with a purchase order?
To pay by Purchase Order, contact Membership Services by e-mail member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310. All dues payments made by Purchase Order will NOT be considered confirmed until payment is received.
How long will it take to process my renewal?
If you pay online, your member record will update immediately. If paying by check, money order, purchase order, or international wire transfer, allow four to six weeks to process your new membership/renewal.
How do I obtain a receipt for my membership dues payment?
An e-mail receipt is automatically sent to the e-mail address in your NCRA account. You can also access receipts through that same account. SIGN IN and go to My Account, then Manage My Account. Scroll to the bottom of the page to view Recent Orders. You can also contact Membership Services by e-mail member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310.
Can I cancel my paid NCRA membership?
NCRA membership dues are not refunded
I inadvertently made a duplicate payment for my annual dues. When can I expect to receive a refund?
If you made a duplicate payment, notify Member Services immediately. Anticipate a refund within three to five business days. The timing depends on your credit card’s refund policy. For checks already deposited, NCRA will contact the member to let them know when they will receive the refund check. Allow four weeks. Checks not yet deposited will either be destroyed or returned immediately. The member will be asked how they would like to handle this situation.
I lost my membership card. How do I get a new one?
NCRA is happy to provide current members with a replacement membership card. Contact Member Services at member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310.
Renew Membership
Do my annual NCRA membership dues include the annual ODS certification maintenance fee?
No. You can pay your annual ODS certification maintenance fee when you renew your NCRA membership. The annual ODS certification maintenance fee for NCRA members is $35; it is in addition to one’s annual Active membership dues of $150. The non-member annual ODS certification maintenance fee is $200.
What if my employer will pay my annual NCRA membership dues but not my annual ODS certification maintenance fee?
To pay your annual NCRA member $35 ODS certification maintenance fee separately from your NCRA member dues, contact Membership Services by e-mail at member@ncra-usa.org or call 703-299-6640 ext. 310. A special link to pay the $35 fee by credit card will be sent to you, along with details on how to pay by check/purchase order, if that is the option you prefer.
Do I have to be an NCRA member to be ODS certified?
No, you do not have to be a member of NCRA to hold the ODS credential. However, your annual ODS certification maintenance fee as a non-member is $200. If you are an NCRA member, your annual ODS certification maintenance fee is $35. Annual Active NCRA member dues ($150) + annual NCRA member ODS certification fee ($35) = $185.
What is the purpose of the annual ODS certification maintenance fee?
The annual ODS certification maintenance fee ensures NCRA’s Council on Certification can support and facilitate the maintenance of this important credential. For more details, click on this link: ODS Maintenance Fee.
How can I confirm the date of my CE submission deadline?
To find important information regarding your ODS certification, SIGN IN to your NCRA account on the NCRA website. Go to the My Account, select Manage My Account. Locate the box entitled ODS Certification; there you will find:

CE Fee Expire (This is your annual ODS certification maintenance fee expiration date.)
ODS Number
The deadline to submit one’s biennial CE credits is January 31. (CE credits must be earned within your CE Cycle dates. For example, if your CE Cycle ends December 31, 2027, you cannot submit CEs earned in January 2028.) ODS-certified professionals are out of compliance when this requirement is not met. The consequence of non-compliance is the revocation of your ODS credential.
How does non-payment of my annual ODS certification maintenance fee affect my certification?
It is critical that your annual ODS certification maintenance fee be paid on time. The deadline to submit the fee is January 31. ODS-certified professionals are out of compliance when the ODS certification fee is not paid by January 31. The consequence of non-compliance is the revocation of your ODS credential.
