Informatics for Cancer Registry Professionals Tuesday, May 5, 2026 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Informatics for Cancer Registry Professionals is designed to expand knowledge of how informatics can be applied to the cancer registry. Special attention will focus on visualizing cancer registry data in Excel and Power BI, along with a review of how to apply informatics to cancer registry analysis. The workshop is for ODS-certified cancer registry professionals who are registry managers, team leads/coordinators, or quality control staff who want to leverage and/or are currently utilizing informatics in their cancer registry work. Registration is limited to 50 attendees.

Fundamentals of Abstracting (FOA) Workshop Wednesday, May 6, 9:00 am - 5:00pm Thursday, May 7, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday, May 9, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Fundamentals of Abstracting (FOA) Workshop will focus on the concepts of quality abstracting and data reporting practices. The agenda includes hands-on experiences and interactive exercises using patient cases, resource materials, manuals, and databases to provide the participant opportunities to experience a variety of basic and complex abstracting exercises. The faculty will provide a theoretical basis for the tasks and activities associated with abstracting and a comprehensive review of the topics most important to abstractors. The workshop is considered a basic course and is not eligible for CE credits. The FOA Workshop is suitable for registry employees with between six months and two years of experience.
