ODS-certified professionals whose Continuing Education (CE) cycle ends December 31, 2025 are required to submit their CEs by January 31, 2026. ODS-certified professionals must complete a minimum of 20 hours of CEs to maintain a certified status. The required 20 CEs keep ODS-certified professionals current on new developments in the field of oncology and registry data management. At least four (4) of the required 20 CE credits must fall within "Category A" which covers the specific topic(s) of: directly assigned stage, EOD, and/or site specific coding principles. CEs must be completed within your CE cycle dates and submission of the reported credits by the January 31 deadline are a requirement to maintain your ODS credential. CEs submitted after the deadline are subject to a late-filing fee. Please allow up to six weeks for the complete review of CE submissions and notification of your credential status.

Supporting documentation of completed CEs is required for ODS-certified professionals granted an extension. Documentation should be submitted to NCRA by the CE Cycle deadline. If an ODS-certified professional is unable to provide required documentation of CEs, then their credential is revoked due to non-compliance.
A portion of the total CEs owed to NCRA at the ODS-certified professionals next CE Cycle after back-to back excused CE cycles are required to be submitted early. Specifically, 50% of the total CEs are due within the first year of the ODS’s next CE Cycle. If an ODS-certified professional is unable to provide required CEs, then their credential is revoked due to non-compliance.
